Deep Sea Fishing in Ft. Lauderdale

Ft. Lauderdale south to Government Cut in Miami offers some of the best deep sea fishing grounds on the Florida east coast for deep sea. During our deep sea fishing trips, most of our fishing is done using light tackle.

The Hattatude is equipped with the latest in fishing tackle. We use start plasma rods, Penn Reels, Shimano Talica 2-speed reels, and larger reels for the large species of fish we will target. When offshore, you will generally find the Hattatude either trolling or live baiting with a kite if the wind allows us. We also use live bait when we are deep dropping to catch Amberjacks, Groupers, and possibly a large shark or two.

On half day Fort Lauderdale fishing trips, we will not have enough time to catch our own bait, but there are bait boats in the inlet with all the fresh, live bait we will need for your adventure. During early Fall to late Spring, live bait is our choice to help maximize your fishing expectations.
